Discrimination is often described as the prejudicial treatment of others based upon certain real or perceived characteristics. Negative terminology within the Youth Service System can lead to discrimination and ensuing levels of oppression towards youth. Labeling is a negative term which means defining someone based upon their appearance or behaviour (real or perceived). A young man with a Mohawk haircut could be labeled as a punk or skinhead solely based on the style of his hair. From a youth justice perspective, a young black man may be subject to more stops and searches by police, and be labeled as more likely to engage in crime, due to the colour of his skin (the UK’s Home Office reports that black and Asian men were more likely to be stopped and searched by police than their white counterparts, see Statistics on Race and the Criminal Justice System, 2006). Discrimination within the Youth Justice System can take a variety of forms. Visible minority youth (black, Asian or other) may be subject to more random police stop and searches, may be less likely to be cautioned by a magistrate and may face higher rates of incarceration. In a study commissioned to look at race and the criminal justice system – not solely the youth system – it was determined that although black residents account for 2% of the population aged 10 and over in England and Wales, their rates of incarceration stand at 12% of the total prison population. Francisco Franco Francisco Franco was the dictator of Spain from 1939 to 1975, including the time of WW2. Perhaps he was better known as â€Å"El Caudillo,† translated into English as The Leader. He was born and raised in Spain. He was a very brilliant military general who led Nationalist rebels in defeating the Spanish government during the Spanish Civil War. Although he was viewed as a Fascist Dictator, he strongly opposed communism. He was an extremely important figure in the course of world history.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Francisco Paulino Hermenegildo Teodulo Franco Bahamonde, Francisco Franco as he was known, was born on December 4, 1892 at the coastal city of El Ferrel in the region known as Galicia in Northwestern Spain. He was close to his mother during his childhood. His father, older brother, and the four generations before him were naval officers. However, the Naval Academy was full so Franco went into the Army. He enrolled into Infantry Academy at Toledo when he was 14 and graduated three years later.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Franco quickly climbed the ranks of the Spanish Army. Definition of Market Orientation : A business approach or philosophy that focuses on identifying and meeting the stated or hidden needs or wants of customers. See also product orientation and sales orientation. ‘Market orientation†Ã¢â‚¬â„¢ perspectives include the decision-making perspective, market intelligence perspective, culturally based behavioral perspective, strategic perspective. Kool Aid A Favorite Childhood Drink Of Mine - 985 Words

Kool-Aid is a favorite childhood drink of mine. One of the big things I think of when I hear the word â€Å"Kool-Aid† is the mascot, which is a giant pitcher of Kool-Aid called Kool-Aid Man. I remember seeing commercials of the mascot with children enjoying summer playing outside, then stopping for a refreshing beverage. I can remember coming home from school, getting the pitcher out of the fridge full of lemon flavored Kool-Aid. The target audience for this product is children and their families. I think the obvious symbol of this is all the commercials I have ever seen, have always had children in it. Also, the cartoon pitcher â€Å"Kool-Aid Man† is target towards children, since it’s essentially a cartoon. I suppose most cartoons are not targeted towards adults. I have looked up Kool-Aid commercials, starting in the 1950’s, and even then it included Kool-Aid Man. In a video of commercials from the 1950’s-1990s, each commercial was different. The 1950s commercial had children in it, and a mother figure, who did an example on how to make it. There was also a catchy jingle. The 1960s commercial had the jingle â€Å"make friends with Kool-Aid,† which ended up getting stuck in my head, as a successful jingle should. This same pattern goes same with the rest of the commercials until this day. Another pattern that tends to stick with the commercials are a number of different cat chy slogans.
